MK Sees Increase In Affordable Homes

New figures released today from Homes England show an increase in the building of affordable homes in Milton Keynes.

The number of affordable homes under construction in 2018/19 was higher than both 2017/18 and 2016/17.

I'm extremely pleased The Four Pillars in Olney has been Highly Commended in the annual Tiffin Cup.

I nominated The Four Pillars in the prestigious competition and it's great to see the fantastic efforts of all their staff has been recognised.

Unemployment In MK North Down 3.8% Since 2010

Unemployment in Milton Keynes North has fallen from 8.3% in 2010 to just 4.5% in 2018, according to figures from the Office Of National Statistics.

This is a decrease from 5,400 people unemployed when the Conservatives first got into Government to just 3,000 now.

UK To Become Net Zero By 2050

I'm very pleased the UK has committed to being net zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050.

This legislation will mean that the UK is on track to become the first G7 country to legislate for net zero emissions. I hope other major economies will follow suit.

Volunteers Week

Millions of volunteers make an incredible contribution to the UK every year so I was delighted to be able to get involved with Volunteers Week 2019.
