Millions of volunteers make an incredible contribution to the UK every year so I was delighted to be able to get involved with Volunteers Week 2019.
During the week I visited Oxfam in Olney where I met some incredible volunteers, some who had been giving up their time to Oxfam for 10 years!
And I also got involved with a bit of volunteering myself to help Oxfam which does an incredible amount of work in ending global poverty.
There was also some great news for The Old Bath House & Community Centre and Milton Keynes Museum in Wolverton which both won The Queen's Award For Voluntary Service.
I had the pleasure of visting The Old Bath House on Volunteers Week to see the amazing work their volunteers do, including the MK Community Fridge.
This idea helps protect our environment as it encourages residents and businesses to donate any excess food they have rather than sending it to landfill.
Not only does it help prevent food waste, it also helps to create amazing bonds within an already tight knit community.
