I am delighted that the Government has agreed to enter a Funding Agreement that will allow Stantonbury Campus to convert into an academy as part of the Griffin Schools Trust.
As part of the Trust with 12 other schools, Stantonbury Campus will benefit from focused support that will provide the necessary tools to build upon its encouraging exam results and Ofsted report at the end of last year. I am particularly pleased that the community provision of sports and arts facilities through the Stantonbury Arts and Leisure Trust will continue after the conversion.
I was keen to play my part in the process, coordinating the contact between the Chair of Governors and the Department of Education. From this I saw the considerable amount of work that all parties have put in and it is to their credit that this crucial step in the school's development has been made.
The Funding Agreement also demonstrates the Government's commitment to ensure every child has an excellent education which will allow them to achieve their full potential. I know that a lot of collaboration and planning between Stantonbury and the Griffin Schools Trust are already underway and I look forward to following their journey closely and have offered my full support.
