I'm proud to be backing Breast Cancer Now's #WearItPink campaign which helps fund vital research and support.
It was good to be able to meet the charity and the people they support in Westminster on Wednesday to hear all about their excellent work to help beat cancer.
There are already 30 Wear It Pink events taking place in Milton Keynes North in 2019, after constituents raised £3,228.01 last year!
From 2014-2016, screening uptake in NHS Milton Keynes CCG was 73.5%, which is higher than the 71.7% average across England, but we still need to be getting more people checked.
Sadly, across the same period, 38 women lost their lives to breast cancer each year and we need to do all we can to help people fight this terrible disease.
To arrange your own Wear It Pink event on Friday 18th October, during Breast Cancer Awareness Month, please visit wearitpink.org/mp.
