Hundreds of appointments still available at re-opened Willen surgery

The Secretary of State for Health Jeremy Hunt visited Milton Keynes last week to encourage residents to register for the re-opened Willen Surgery.

After a campaign by myself, Newport Pagnell Medical Centre and other stakeholders, the surgery which closed in 2013 was re-opened 18 months ago.

Willen Surgery, although partnered with the Medical Centre in Newport Pagnell, is open every day and also operates a full service.

Despite that the surgery still has capacity to take on up to 4,000 new patients. The Health Secretary visited to congratulate the team for securing the reopening and to encourage residents within their catchment area, to register.

The Secretary of State for Health and Social Care Jeremy Hunt said, "I congratulate Mark and the team at Newport Pagnell Medical Centre for getting the surgery open and for delivering an outstanding service for patients. I hope the surgery continues to grow from strength to strength."

Caroline Rollings, the Managing Partner of Newport Pagnell Medical Centre said, "It was great to have the Secretary of State acknowledge the hard work that went in to reopening Willen. We have the capacity to take on new patients so, if you are new to MK and live within our catchment area, do register with us."
