MK Economy Continues to Boom

I've welcomed a report by Centre for Cities which shows Milton Keynes has strengthened its place as one of the strongest economies in the UK.

Unemployment at a 43 Year Low

Figures published by the Office for National Statistics (ONS) showed unemployment in Milton Keynes North and across the UK fell yet again in December.

A Woolly Good Winner

The winner of the Newport Pagnell Independent Shop of the Year 2018 competition has been announced. Congratulations to The Wool Shop!

The competition organised by me took place over December and ended on Friday 18th January with almost 600 votes cast.

Today I'm launching the 'Green MK Grant.'

The idea is to find young people living in Milton Keynes who have new ideas on how to reduce our levels of waste, lower our energy use or anything else that can help MK contribute to tackling climate change.

Pensions Cold Calling Ban

Following on from my Scam Smart event last month, I'm delighted to announce the pensions cold calling ban comes into effect today. The ban will help people stay protected and ensure pensioners have dignity and security in retirement, with fines of £500,000 fines for scammers.

NHS Long Term Plan

Our #NHSLongTermPlan will protect the health service now and for generations to come – ensuring the NHS is always there for you and your family. The Government will be spending an extra £20.5 billion a year in real terms by 2023-24, with every penny spent well.

Review of 2018

Well 2018 has been a busy year! I was lucky enough to visit members of our outstanding Armed Forces around the world. Visiting HMS Trenchant in the arctic circle was a special highlight. In MK we have had yet another year of success.

Santa's Helpers Waiting Tables

? Focus IT Recruitment in MK transformed themselves into santa's helpers this week to serve 100 Christmas dinners at the Kings Community Church in Wolverton. They enjoyed it that much, they're looking forward to next year!
