This survey will help us to gather the thoughts and views of people that use the West Coast Main Line regularly.
As the contract for the new operator of the West Coast Partnership is about to go out to tender in November 2017, we want to make it clear to the consortiums who are bidding that more needs to be done to improve the commuting experience.
The aim of this survey is to attain the views and feelings of all the people who use this service regularly to improve your experience in the future. The survey includes questions on areas such as improvements to facilities, opinions on cost and quality of the on-board experience.
In our opinion the new West Coast Partnership must support growth locally and deliver better services for commuters. We also want to see ticket options simplified and more transparent, and further discounts made available such as off-peak season tickets.
The selected consortiums will soon bid for the contract which will commence in April 2019, they will be responsible for the current Virgin services on the mainline.
As Milton Keynes has a growing population of commuters, it is vital that your voices are heard throughout this process. All the responses will be put together and sent in a joint letter to the three consortiums who will be bidding.
For your information the names of the consortiums are below:
- First Trenitalia West Coast Ltd, a joint venture between First Rail Holdings Ltd and Trenitalia SpA
- MTR West Coast Partnership Ltd, a joint venture between MTR Corporation (UK) Ltd and Guangshen Railway Company, with the following key sub-contractors:
- Deloitte MCS Ltd
- Panasonic Systems Europe
- Snowfall AB
- Trainline.com Ltd
- WSP Parsons Brinkerhoff
- West Coast Partnership Ltd a joint venture between Stagecoach Group plc, Virgin Holdings Ltd and SNCF C3.
