A SPECIAL Samaritans car was welcomed to Milton Keynes by a city MP.
Mark Lancaster was on hand when the charity’s Smart Car made a pit stop at its Fishermead branch on Friday, July 23.
The member for Milton Keynes North learnt about the work the charity does providing listeners for people in emotional distress.
Mr Lancaster said: “I think it’s really important that the Samaritans are raising the profile of the work they do, which has helped so many people for so many years, and continues to make an impact in Milton Keynes.”
There was an emphasis on the group’s work in prisons including HMP Woodhill.
Between July 10 and 24 the car visited 175 Samaritans branches across the UK covering 5,000 miles to highlight the non-stop service the charity provides.
