Ministers have announced that Milton Keynes could expect nearly £4.5million of investment from the New Homes Bonus Scheme.

The scheme which matches the council tax raised for new homes and empty properties brought back into use, is aimed at encouraging development.

Milton Keynes Council will receive the eleventh highest amount of investment out of 353 councils nationally.

Mark said: “Having pressed for years for infrastructure before expansion I am delighted to know that Milton Keynes will be given the money to deliver that. I am also pleased that the council will have control in the way the funds are allocated, giving local people back the power from national government.“
